Nursing Home Malpractice

Jane Doe (hereafter “Doe”) had multiple serious medical conditions including seizure disorder, chronic kidney disease, COPD and diabetes. She was a resident at Woe Nursing Home. She had several hospitalizations. She was transported from the hospital back to Woe and was brought to her old room and moved from the transportation stretcher to her bed, still on the mattress on which she was transferred from the hospital. She was seen briefly by a staff member who left her to get additional supplies that were needed to provide for Doe.

During the brief time she was left alone, Doe fell from the bed sustaining significant injuries including a head injury and a left femur fracture and was transferred back to the hospital after the fall. Imaging showed a left femur fracture, which was surgically repaired. Doe however, developed an infection. She was sent to hospice and died on August 23, 2023.
